Get it going!
If you had been following this site you know that recently it has been, well... dead. Life gets busy, you know how it goes. At any rate, I am still committed to keeping it going. I have finished my pilot logs through my checkride and beyond and will be posting a new homepage article soon!
My goal now is to get some others interested in developing content. If you are interested in writing homepage articles or having your own pilot log you can apply for account here click me!
Accounts on the community page are open to anyone as well.

Titan Aircraft Factory Visit
After finishing the tour I asked Bill, what Titan had in store for the future. Bill said the next plane they would release would be a 3/4 scale FW 190. Like it’s Allied rival, the 3/4 scale terror will be fully aerobatic so Titan will debut it by having a mock dogfight with a T-51, Titan’s 3/4 scale P-51 Mustang. The 190 will have similar features and performance to the T-51 Bill said. After the 190 Titan wants to produce a replica P-40 as well as a full powered, turbine powered, 2500 hp P-51 Mustang. Finally, Bill informed me, Titan has a full-scale Corsair planed. The Corsair will include such features as folding wings optional bubble canopy to accommodate a second seat and a 450HP Pratt and Whitney radial engine.
Titan’s Roots
Titan aircraft was formed from Future Controls Corporation because of owner John Williams’ passion for aviation. Titan began by producing an ultralight known as the CGS Hawk for CGS aviation in 1987. Soon after in 1992 the began design and production of their tornado series.
The Tornado: ultralights to gunships
Titans ultralight roots are immediately apparent in the design of the tornado series. However, with cruise speeds upwards of 120mph and full metal construction, the tornado is no ultralight. A full cantilevered wing eliminates the need for wing struts and combined with a pusher prop provides excellent visibility. The leading edge of the single piece wing is constructed of foam covered in aluminum, providing an extremely strong structure and eliminating the need for rivets so laminar flow over the leading edge of the wing is not disturbed. Later this proven design would even surpass its recreational origins. Titan now produces tornado kits for the military as both surveillance drones as well as gunship drones. The rear seat position is removed to allow for 14 hour missions. A system is added to the surveillance drone which allows it to operate autonomously on these long missions. A remote control unit is added to the gunship model which allows it to be controlled by command truck.
T-51: pocket sized warbirds
Having grown up with remote controlled aircraft, this miniature mustang had a certain appeal to me so I couldn’t wait to learn more about this unique aircraft. The T-51 is a 3/4 scale P-51 D mustang. Like the original, it has a sliding bubble canopy, retractable landing gear and even a working belly scoop. It can be powered by a variety of engines such as 183 hp turbocharged Suzuki or a 244 hp turbocharged honda. Performance is further enhanced by a smooth form cored leading edge similar to the Tornado and a constant speed propeller. With features performance enhancing features, the T-51 will cruise at 218mph at 6000ft, not bad for an aircraft with an empty weight of about 1000 lbs.
Titan produces the T-51 in a standard kit as well as a quick build kit. Bill said the kits could be completed in about 1500hrs and 500 hours respectively. They Also produce a few complete aircraft for Canadian Buyers. The T-51 is available in a Light sport configuration with fixed landing gear and rotax engine as well. Bill also stated that the T-51 is an accessible build for the first time builder.
If you are interested in owning or flying a WWII scale or a tornado series aircraft look into Titan Aircraft I am certain that you will not be dissapinted. They are great people with innovative products.

If you enjoy WWII flight simulators like I do you probably know that pretty much nothing interesting has appeared since IL-2 Sturmovik released way back when. While it is a great simulator with pretty good graphics for its day I can't help but feel its becoming dated.
However, there is a small ray of hope, Wings of Prey. I downloaded the demo last night and was pretty impressed. The flight characteristics (on simulator mode) seem to hold their own against the venerable IL-2. But where the sim really seems to shine is the presentation. The graphics are amazing, hands down the best in any simulator I have ever seen (that includes FSX). Aside from the graphics the overall presentation just feels right. It "feels" frantic, desperate, and intense, as I imagine an English Pilot would staring down a black cloud of oncoming metal. To tell you the truth I think that this immersive "feel" is something that many previous sims lack.
I don't want to get my hopes up, as I have been disappointed before. However, I must say, I am looking foreword to flying in the full version of this sim.
If you are interested in the demo you can download it from steam or their website: www.airwargame.com.
